Scope:

In the past few years, organizations have had to accelerate their digital transformation priorities, developing new products to compete in an increasingly competitive marketplace. The shift in demand toward a personalized, dynamic online experience has created the demand for new digital products – all of this translated into software development, leading to the inception of new software development trends. The implications of the latest development trends (Such as Machine Learning (ML) operations, DevSecOps, Serverless Computing, Bloackchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Augmented Reality (AR) and quantum computing) are reflecting the ever-evolving nature of software development industry. For example, recently, Blockchain and big data-oriented technologies have been successfully employed by the research community to reshape the economy, finances, and other domain application development by targeting certain software engineering issues such as continuous integration, package deployment, effort estimation and so on. In this regard, SE research community of different application domains needs to get the theoretical or empirical evidence regarding the implications of modern development trends. This workshop will be a vital platform for academic and industrial researchers of the corresponding domains.

This workshop aims to provide a meeting point for both practitioners and researchers to discuss the theoretical and empirical studies conducted to evolve and manage Software Engineering (SE) practices and resolve related issues by employing modern technology. The ever-evolving nature of the software development industry due to the inclusion of new development trends such as Machine Learning (ML) operations, DevSecOps, Serverless Computing, Bloackchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Augmented Reality (AR) and quantum computing lead to introduce new software engineering practices. This workshop will provide an opportunity to present empirical evidence of how the latest software development trends are enabling software engineering practices addressing the issue in the context of effort estimation, software process improvement, quality assessment, risk management, continuous integration, and so on.
